Hilmarton Parish Neighbourhood Plan

The Parish Council are considering the merits of
registering an intention to lead a steering group in the
development of a Neighbourhood Plan (NP).
If successful and approved, it would form a legally
binding part of our local planning policy, which
planners must consider when making decisions on
planning applications.
The production of a NP must involve the whole
community, including local businesses, the School,
Church, Chapel and other community groups.
Formation of a steering group is essential, consisting
of representatives from all the above bodies, including
a small number of Parish Councillors.
Public consultations will need to be organised with the
aim of encouraging maximum participation.
The average time scale for preparing a NP from start
to finish is approximately two years.
