Happily, my banns were read in St Laurence’s in 1980, my parents living at Cowage and the parents of my wife Sally at Avon. Christened in Bishops Cannings and at school in Savernake Forest, I am a furriner with admiration for the way in which the parish manages its affairs; looks after its churches, school, alms houses, halls and cricket club; contributes to housing development; seeks improved road and verge management; and for how it draws together its different interest groups and as a community, both in good times and bad; with distant memories of the Duke...
Living at Corton since 2005 and working in international financial services since 1976, I serve on the board of the Marlborough Downs Space for Nature and sit on the finance committee of the Wiltshire Wildlife Trust.

I moved to the village in 2018 with my husband after falling in love with it in the pouring rain, and never looked back! Since then we’ve explored every public right of way and can’t think of anything better than being outside enjoying the charm that the village and neighbouring areas have. It’s this that inspired me to get involved, meet the local community and hopefully play an important role on sharing our love for the place we all choose to live in. By day I’m an optician and customer services manager for a national domiciliary company after realising I wanted to help support people when volunteering in a nursing home as a teenager. One thing led to another as they usually do and that’s where I find myself now. I’m passionate about the countryside, sustainability, health and well-being and hope I can promote and support ideas to continue ensuring we have a fantastic place to live in and share with one another.

I was born in Chippenham and moved to Compton Road with my wife Jacquie in 1988. We have a daughter who attended Hilmarton Primary School and The John Bentley School in Calne.  She continued her studies at Plymouth University and then moved to Exeter University to complete a Phd.
I worked as an Area Sales Manager for Shell UK Oil and retired in March 2020. I have served on the Parish Council since May 1999 during some of that time I was Chairman. I was also a Governor at Hilmarton Primary School for 13 years. Currently I am an active member of the Parochial Church Council (PCC), Church Warden and a keen member of St Laurence Bell Ringers. I view the whole of the Parish as my family home and enjoy being involved in any worthy cause or activity that can add value to the community.

My husband Dave and I moved to Goatacre in 1998, we were both full time employees at that time.
I have now retired and like to try to be supportive within the community when I can.
I saw the role of Parish Councillor as an opportunity to do this and I look forward to contributing to the work of the Parish Council and bringing forward any views residents may wish be discussed.

My name is Robert Fry and I have lived in the parish since 1967, the year I was born. I have been involved in agriculture all my life and I am the third generation of Frys, farming at Spillmans Farm. Myself, my three siblings and my two children have all schooled at Hilmarton Primary School.
Work takes up most of my time, especially during the spring and summer months. My passion when not working is coaching football to my son’s football team. This I have done since he was an under 6, and my aim is to continue coaching this team all the way through to adult football.
I am pleased to now be part of the parish council, where I can hopefully be involved in decisions affecting the parish and the community in the future.

I live in Church road near the chapel with my wife, adult daughter and our dog ‘Basil’. My son and his fiancé moved out in 2011 and now live in Calne. My children have both attended Hilmarton and John Bentley Schools. We have lived in Hilmarton since 1995.
An active member of the community, having been involved and attended many of the projects and events held in the Parish and surrounding area. I have been an active member of the HSA, Neighbourhood First Responders; Also I am currently the Vice-Chair of the SSAFA Forces Additional Needs & Disability Forum.
I am a keen photographer, dog walker and cyclist (when time allows). When walking with ‘Basil’ we use many of the footpaths and bridleways that criss-cross our Parish, and try to keep them clear and accessible. I have served as a councillor for several years and I am proud of where we live and want to be involved in the community and maintain the charm the parish has.
