Temporary Closure of: Goatacre Lane (Part) and Lower Goatacre, Hilmarton (Ref: TTRO 6659) 

Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council has made an Order to close temporarily to all traffic: 

1. A) Goatacre Lane (Part), Hilmarton; from its junction with A3102 to its junction with Combe Lane; 

1. B) Goatacre Lane (Part), Hilmarton; from its junction with Lower Goatacre for a distance of approximately 80 metres in a southerly direction; 

1. C) Lower Goatacre, Hilmarton; from its junction with Goatacre Lane for a distance of approximately 140 metres in an easterly direction. 

To enable: Avonline to carry out excavation works to lay cable. 

Alternative route (a): via Combe Lane – A3102 and vice versa. 

Alternative Route (b) and (c): No alternative route is available; access will be maintained for residents and businesses. 

The closure and diversion route will be clearly indicated by traffic signs. 

This Order which previously came into operation on 22 November 2019 will now recommence on 13 August 2020 and the closure will be required until 18 August 2020. It is anticipated that the works will take the stated duration to complete depending upon weather conditions. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses where possible, although delays are likely due to the nature of the works. The Order has a maximum duration of 18 months.
